Elephant Ear Wash
I was constantly going to the doctor about once a year for ear wax / ear infections. They doctor would flush out my ear and give me antibiotics and it would go away for another year. I refuse to stick anything in my ear as I just don't feel safe doing it myself. The last time I went to the doctor for this he did the same thing as Bog said. Nurse comes in , He uses the washer on both ears, I don't get a large quantity of wax out, but a noticeable ball, about the size of a pencil eraser circle in spherical form, and I get IMMEDIATE relief from the itching and slight soreness.
I gave it about another year, and I noticed the itching again. I immediately ordered one of these and it is REALLY well made. I filled it half full of hot water from the tap, and then added cold peroxide. The temp was Warm but by no means hot. I then proceeded to use multiple bottles on each ear. After looking in the receptacle I was using to catch the discharge I noticed a wax ball from one ear, and a friggin RING of wax from the other, and you could tell it had built up around my ear drum. It was the best confirmation that if I had used a q-tip to try and get that I would have most likely poked a hole in my ear drum. Immediate relief, put some vinegar in there to reset the ph , and low and behold better in no time. now when I get ANY discomfort in my ear, I immediately do a full flush and then put ear drops in. The soreness stops totally in a day or so, and I get immediate relief from ear itching. This was worth every dime, and I keep it in a special drawer in the how so that I never worry about it getting lost or messed up.
One thing I will mention is this thing applies (or can apply) A TON of pressure on the ear canal and drum. You should GENTLY use this and never use so much force that you feel discomfort, just keep flushing until all the stuff is out of your ear, there is no rush. I have used 3 full bottles in my ear ( that first time, never needed to after that ) and if feels awesome, it is like scratching in your ear with water. Anyway, I have used it for years, and it's well worth it.
